For Experimental Builders¶
Document an amateur-built aircraft project from kit-arrival through Phase 1 flight testing.
Pages¶
- Build log — dated journal entries with photos
- Phase 1 testing — test points, conditions, observations
- Parts tracking — per-project parts inventory
- Inspections — pre-condition / condition inspection records
- Weight & balance — empty weight verification, CG
- Builder blog — public or private project journal
How it differs from production aircraft¶
The experimental persona has a separate set of tools because amateur-built aircraft have different documentation requirements:
- The build log captures construction history (something a TC'd aircraft doesn't need)
- Phase 1 flight testing is a regulated period of restricted flight before the aircraft can carry passengers
- Pre-condition / condition inspection — equivalent to an annual but scoped to experimentals
- Builder blog — many builders maintain a public project journal; AZSuite hosts one optionally
The experimental dashboard's tile set replaces the standard maintenance tiles with build-log / phase-test / parts / inspections / weight-balance.
